Richard Crandell is an acknowledged master of the acoustic guitar and Zimbabwean mbira. He has released numerous albums of guitar music and the critically aclaimed, Tzadik Records album Mbira Magic (2004). The Washington Post awarded this album as one of its Top Ten albums of the year for 2004.

These songs from Richard's album, One on One, showcase Richard's intricate finger picking and innovative compositions. Leo Kottke recorded Richard's composition, "Rebecca" on his Chewing Pine album on Capitol Records.
