Biography:
Pale: Contentment is the Enemy of Invention.

Pale are a Post Alternate Rock band. They hand craft their own material and play it as it was written to be played. They hail from Stafford in Staffordshire, but have the impetus to travel to wherever the sounds need to go.

Pale have recently returned from searching for a replacement drummer and they have found gigs to be waiting for them. They are putting all the pieces back together, rehersing the best of the previous material, and creating the new. Gigs are being set up, oportunities are being excersised. They recently released their "An Endless Game" EP online.

During 2005/2006 they played over 40 local gigs, around the West Midlands and Staffordshire area at such venues as JB's in Dudley, The Little Civic in Wolverhampton, The Rigger in Newcastle-u-Lyme and the Actress and Bishop in Birmingham. All of this was done by the band themselves with precious little assistance from promoters and other such industry officionadoes. They came 3rd in Stafford University's Battle-of-the-bands out of some 32 local bands, most of whom were student bands (read: "most likely to win"). This band can make it happen, regardless of the obstacles. The largest of these gigs was playing to around 800 people at the "Live @ The Castle" festival, held at Stafford Castle every July. The castle walls shook. Next time, they will fall. Each christmas they set up themselves an evening of local talented bands and DJ's for night of local sounds, called "Bar Humbug". All aspects of this night are established by the band, proving they know more than just how to play instruments. These evenings are a highlight of Stafford's growing underground music scene.

In the spring of 2006 they featured on BBC Stoke's 'Subculture' show, including an interview on air discussing their forthcoming "An Endless Game" EP, along with airplay of tracks from the EP; and their search (at the time) for a replacement drummer. Quoted from one of thier songs "Perfect" this EP was named for the eternal struggle that bands face trying to get their sound heard and thier action seen, this EP featured 6 tracks of origional material mixed and produced by Pale themselves. Even without the ability to gig they faught tooth and nail to keep the Pale name alive. They found, after many visits from so-called drummers, the replacement they needed who joined the band in early 2007.

Pale are to gig from August, as far and wide as they can. More Airplay with BBC Stoke Subcultre is to follow, with Pale playing a live set in the studio.

Here is what some aspects of the industry had to say about Pale.

"Pale are wringing some ankst from the combo of slash-jangle alternating with storm-force guitars ..."  www.Unpeeled.co.uk

"Pale have put a lot of thought into writing the lyrics for these tracks, and it can be said that they were written for Mikey’s unusual and eerie voice...Perfect is an excellent track...has an atmosphere about it that takes you on a spiralling journey of never ending riffs that would put Steve Harris to shame(!)" Debbie Wickett of www.Planetthrash.com

"...a combination of extremely rapid, varied guitar riffs, steady drum beats, heavy bass..." Get Knotted (GK) Student Magazine, Stafford Uni.

"Perfect starts madly, like a speeded up Wire, then yearning rawk vocals spread over the fidgety energy, but this is likeable stuff, with fascinating interplay between the slender, slippery guitar and bass which provide real melodic control...Curebind is the one...with cool lyrics and an utterly glorious chorus..." www.mickmercer.com

"...contains an edge that I just can’t quite put my finger on..." Steve Hough, StickyLicky Music UK.
